I admit that I’m not a Blender master/guru/ninja/sensei. But, I at least have the advantage of knowing some of the common difficulties faced by people just learning Blender. So I’m planning on doing some very short and simple tutorials with a focus on teaching some of the most basic stuff. How to do an edge loop, how to get to menus, using sub surf modifier, simple texturing. The above picture is something I quickly created last night and will be the basis for my first tutorial. I am thinking about doing 3-5 of them, each on a common and simple object and each one showing a slightly different aspect of Blender.
One of the big problems I found was the lack of really basic and simple tutorials. Most of them got into complex stuff quickly and moved quite fast. But I’ll try to focus on basic stuff, move slowly, and give people something easy they do can in an hour or so. Hopefully it will help people like me!
